Larkspur Landing Folsom receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its spacious suites, convenient location, and included breakfast, while others highlight issues with cleanliness, noise levels, and inconsistent service. Recent reviews indicate a decline in overall quality and a need for significant improvements.
We stayed in a suite, 200$~ a night for two clean queen sized beds, two tvs, huge bathroom, and a beautiful balcony! I enjoyed it a lot, very cozy and Dana was so sweet! would DEFINITELY recommend! There’s a bunch of restaurants nearby (recommended chilis) Breakfast is modest, but is yummy! Free cookies when available and sweet staff. Worth your stay!!
I would give no stars if I could. Breakfast was really bad and obviously very poor quality. Woke up on a Saturday morning and it looked like a hockey puck of a fake egg. Not even any condiments and manager was rude about it. Carpet can definitely use a remodel. Do not stay here at all costs. Most Larkspur very good but this location awful. The door was broken and hard to get parts never gonna get fixed. Elevator took forever to definitely in need of an upgrade. There is a foul stench in all halfways of hotel. However David at the front desk was awesome.
Most rude experience have encountered in my decades at various hotels around the country. Every hotel staff pleasant well is hospitality business right however this hotel's mgmt and breakfast staff deplorable. The hot breakfast is just awful lowest quality tasteless so few times eat feel necessary to smother in ketchup. Half the time no ketchup out there so asked if can put more out there repeatedly and they do for a bit then back to old ways. Asked for breakfast manager and before could say one work she rudely said verbatim "we do not have to put ketchup out there", this is not a restaurant". I said yes and don't have to have a gym or coffee and guess what I don't have to stay here. I lost my cool as old principled person no one gonna speak to me like that when on a long term stay paying 800 a week. Am a big guy so sounded off and when asked manager if we could all talk make peace said my staff not comfortable around you as yeah maybe if your staff breakfast manager had an inkling of customer support etiquette would of not lost my cool. They are all getting each others back. Owners sister cousin who knows but very creepy negative hotel with attitude. I been having time of my life spending time with my son and enjoying some time off work so no attitude here. Homeless outside, lots of bad stuff going on here. Larkspur in Campbell and Sunnyvale always great experience so is just this one that seems to need training on proper customer service and proper breakfast.
Checked in hoping for rest. Checked out questioning reality. We booked a suite with a couch. Plot twist: no couch. We asked for a top-floor room (because we’ve stayed here before and learned the hard way that noise travels). We were told it would take 30 minutes to get one, so—exhausted—we settled for a bottom-floor room that at least had the mythical couch we booked. Switching rooms should have been simple, but the front desk experience was… not. We waited over 25 minutes while the employee struggled, before he finally asked another associate for help. At around 7pm, the guest above us began what I can only describe as a CrossFit furniture-moving competition—slamming doors, dragging furniture, stomping endlessly. We assumed it would stop. It did not. This continued through midnight. We couldn’t immediately leave because our dog has motion sickness, so we had to wait an extra hour for medication to kick in. When we finally went to the front desk to explain the noise and overall miserable stay, the response we received was: “Okay, that’s cool.” It was not cool. To add insult to injury, the General Manager later emailed me to explain that the guest above us has been a long-term resident since November and there have been no complaints. So apparently, the options are: We imagined the noise, or We are now liars. Either way, this was a terrible experience, and we will not be returning or staying at any Larkspur Landing sister properties. If you enjoy being dismissed, gaslit, and serenaded by midnight furniture rearranging, this might be the place for you. Otherwise—hard pass.
The room was very roomy and comfortable, perfect for an extended stay. It had a full fridge and a kitchen setup that allowed us to cook our own meals, which was very convenient. The spacious living room made the stay feel more like home, and the pull-out bed was a great bonus for extra guests. Breakfast was included, which added even more value. Overall, it was a comfortable and practical place to stay, especially for longer visits.
I want to commend Dana for assisting me with a reservation that was set for accommodation purposes. She was very friendly, patient, understanding and very professional. Thank you so much for working with us! Definitely recommend Larkspur in Folsom, the customer service received was wonderful.
One of the best hotels I've stayed at helpful helpful the check-in process was quick & easy. There wasn't a bunch of paperwork to sign or restrictions on forms of payment you can use. The price was reasonable for the accommodations provided. The atmosphere was very relaxing nice and quiet yeah very welcoming to accommodate family or business events or meetings. I love the fact that they are not only pet friendly but offer pet treats at the check-in desk and cookies for us humans. They offer ice water at a certain of teas and coffee in the lobby and have snack and drink vendors in the on-site laundry room. The complimentary breakfast had a wide variety of healthy breakfast options to choose from compared to other hotels with similar price range. The only things that did not exceed my expectations was the eggs I would highly advise to avoid and that it would have been better if they had pool or hot tub on site and parking was a bit limited. However I did appreciate the fact I have no concern for the safety of my vehicle or its belongings. My stay was refreshing the rooms were amazing I appreciated the private balcony the his and her sinks in the bathroom and the amenities of a full-size kitchen. Had my room been available I would have stayed another night I highly recommend this hotel for its location those that are trying to be located near local shopping with her being quick access to the freeway and the Folsom outlets and fine dining down the street as well as right around the corner.
I’ve stayed at this hotel about 3 times now and was never disappointed u til my last stay. I always use an app called Booking.com to schedule my hotel stays and used it again this time. I checked in on a Wednesday to stay until Friday. The front desk lady assigned me the worst room situated literally between the guest laundry room and across the hall from the kitchen. OMG. I mistakenly did not ask to change rooms because I thought how bad could it be? It got pretty bad. There are not doors that separate the lobby from the hallway so you hear it all, voices, loud steppers and endless slamming doors. My 2nd night, I was awakened at 5 am by somebody doing their laundry and apparently having issues with a machine or maybe it was a door. I couldn’t pinpoint the slamming sound. I can’t imagine why, during the weekdays and not even a busy weekend, a guest would be assigned such a terrible room. I wonder if it was because I used an app and didn’t call directly or maybe the lady didn’t like my last name. Who knows? Disappointing.
I was here for a Quick visit and also needed a quiet place to work on my dissertation. Staff were friendly and helpful. I didn’t bring my pets this time, I do in the plan to in the future. I highly recommend!!!
I don't understand the three star rating because for me, it was a five star. I have lived in two hotels while training for a major US company and this was the third one. The first two were Marriott Suites in Oakbrook, IL and another near Anaheim. This time it was a personal stay while waiting to close on my new home in Folsom with my kitty. Every staff member was excellent, my standard Queen suite was perfect and gorgeous with a full kitchen, free WiFi, free breakfast was amazing, cookies in the evening was a bonus, free washers and dryers was so nice, I needed a conference room to sign documents - I was provided one with no problem at all, the people cleaning the hotel were so accommodating, coffee and water in the lobby all the time was awesome, I didn't check out the workout room but it looked very nice and I still can't believe how cheap it was to live there for more than two weeks. Plus, all kinds of restaurants, a movie theater and shopping within walking distance. If you don't need a pool, I would recommend this hotel over any name brand hotel.
